Danielle Robinson
Positive Thinking Positive Results
Danielle moved to Middle Tennessee in 2003 after growing up in Connecticut. She credits her childhood black Labrador Retriever/Great Dane mix for teaching her about the unconditional love and support that dogs provide.
Danielle’s first dog as an adult was a gentle and well-mannered Australian Shepherd. The bond they created encouraged her to foster rescue dogs. Danielle taught the foster dogs basic obedience skills and socialization, thus increasing their potential for successful long-term adoptions.
Danielle Robinson is positive reinforcement and force-free dog trainer. She is certified through the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers as a Certified Professional Dog Trainer—Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA). Danielle has dedicated her life to improving lives: one person and one dog at a time.
In 2012, Danielle started working as a professional dog trainer teaching group classes and private one-on-one lessons ranging from basic obedience to advanced training, including training for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen award.
Furthering her commitment to learning and growing as a dog trainer, she successfully completed an internship at the largest no-kill animal sanctuary in the country, Best Friends Animal Society in Utah. There, Danielle cared for dogs who had very diverse backgrounds and specific behavioural issues, including several dogs saved from the Michael Vick dog fighting ring.
Danielle’s goal to be a service dog trainer started when she saw a news story about people who raise and train puppies for service dog organizations (puppy raisers). The story inspired her to become a puppy raiser for Southeastern Guide Dogs. For the next seven years, she opened her home to these puppies teaching basic to advanced obedience as well as service dog-specific skills. This experience increased her knowledge about the care and attention puppies need.
Danielle currently lives with her dogs Miracle, a Shepherd mix, and Emma Grace, a black Labrador Retriever. She enjoys hiking, snow skiing, photography, and scrapbooking when she is not at home with her dogs.
