Public Access Test Training
The Public Access Test was developed by Assistance Dogs International to accurately assess service dogs’ reliability to safely navigate in public areas without intrusive behavior and whether the handler-dog interaction is conducive to this behavior. It is a 12-point test geared toward how well they interact in various scenarios and exposures including restaurants and stores.
FREE 30-minute PRE-ADOPTION CONSULTATION
We offer a 30-minute phone consultation prior to you adopting a puppy or adult dog to guide you through the adoption process. We review questions to ask your breeder such as:
- At what age was the puppy weaned from the mother?
- How long were the puppies with their littermates?
- What vaccines were given and who administered them?
For puppies and adult dogs being adopted from a rescue group, shelter or individual, common questions include:
- Is the dog house trained?
- Has the dog been heartworm tested?
- Has the dog interacted with other dogs or cats?
- What behaviors have been noted and addressed?
